Recently we produced a job for one of our local rugby league clubs that like many other sports clubs are always looking for ways to raise funds. Now proposing to spend more money on items like Enamel pins when you don’t necessarily have the means can be somewhat of a challenge to the powers that be – but it’s all about presenting the facts, and doing it in a way that will ensure the success of your club or business.

So how do I approach it?

Let your committee members or business partners see the value of investing in a set of pins or promotional products. Explain that by buying, for example, 250 pin badges and selling them on for £5.00 how much money could be raised and injected back into the club to push things forward. Enamel pins and woven patches are great long lasting items that will not only bring much needed revenue back to the club but will also give you a great advertisement that will stand the test of time in years to come. Promote them at matches or events or encourage club members to sell to family and friends there are endless ways to sell your product.

So lets break your proposal down…

• What’s the cost of our product?
• How many do we need to sell?
• What can we sell them for?
• What profit will we make?

Presenting the facts and figures and giving a clear explanation as to who will buy your promotional items, and the money you will make, will no doubt lead to a resounding yes from your colleagues and peers and hopefully will get you a little pat on the back for a great idea well done!
